I've never listened to an audiobook before this summer but I started listening as research. I've been contemplating producing one of my own books into audio and figured I'd better at least know what an audiobook was supposed to sound like before I started. Well, an interesting thing happened.

I got hooked.

There's something really soothing about the sound of the human voice and being told a story is one of the oldest human traditions there is. After devouring multiple audiobooks I was convinced. Audio deserves way more attention than it receives and I'm super excited to present my first contribution to the audio world.

Gretchen, Flora and Tonya are my leading ladies in The Roughnecks. When Minx offered me a chance to guest on The Naughty Girls, I knew my topic had to be about them.

I think every girl needs at least one best friend in her backpocket and Gretchen lucked out with two of them. When she was ready to go after her man, it was these two who pushed her out of the nest. When her man turned into a bit of a jerk, it was these two saying to hell with him.

Tonya is a bit more levelheaded and sensible. While I didn’t aim to write them that way, they just took on their personality.
